Dan has always wanted to show a WWII film from Belgium with spitfires zooming across the screen. Unfortunately no such film could be found until he stumbled across a film featured in the Oostende international film festival. It did not feature any spitfires (or any other planes) but otherwise was a perfect fit.

This gritty film features two young police officers who find themselves torn between collaboration and resistance as they navigate the Nazi-occupied Antwerp during World War II. They murder a cruel german solider to save a Jewish family. But it becomes more and more difficult to avoid the suspicion of the german soldiers as they attempt to uncover who is to blame for their murdered collegue.

Dan posed the question - what would we do in their shoes? In after film discussion there was a lot of talk about right wing extremisim in germany (as well as the British press). The evening was complimented by a number of Belgium delicacies including Duval beer, a cherry beer, and Danish pastires! There was also a bottle of German Reisling wine and some Ardennes pate.

The film scored very highly at 79% approval rating. However, introduction and food let the score down a bit.
