Cabaret is a superb film it was awarded 8 Ocsars in 1972, including best Actress for Lisa Minnelli. So why did it only get 65% here? Maybe because it was introduced in the war film category. There was a few scenes where the nazi uniforms were in evidence, however the bulk of the film depicts the Berlin night club scene between 1929 to 1933. The film is remembered for it's superb songs and the scenes shot in the night club with Joel Grey as the master of ceremonies. However, I was surprised at how much of film is spent outside the night club focussing of the developing love story between Sally Bowles (Minelli) and Brian Roberts (Michael York).
Bruce managed to introduce german wine and german sausages to link to the film.
