Oscar: Sound Editing 2019
Ford vs Ferrari tells the story of Ford's attempt to buy a controlling stake in Ferrari. The deal did not go the way Ford expected it to. In fact Ford was so upset and insulted about being excluded from the deal they turned to Carol Shelby (Matt Damon) to build a car that would beat Ferrari at Le Mans. They did win with the Ford GT40 in 1966, 67, 68 and 69.
Jim was keen to show off his new 6.1 sound system and the best way to do that was with a film that had won the Oscar for best Sound Editing. However, we all know that to get the best marks you need to make sure the evening is presented well. To ensure top marks Jim had provided several bottles of champagne to compare. That was not all There was a goody bag conatining popcorn, chocolate and small individual bottles of fizz. Not only that there was an interval with ice cream. No wonder he scored 98% on the evening score! It could have been 100% but Sunita was unwilling to be usherette at the interval. Overall 79% takes him to the top of the leader board!
