A challenging film from director Peter Greenaway - I think all his films are challenging!
From what I can gather - by looking at the various images since I didn't attend this presentataion - the film combines nudity and cannibalisim to tell the story of an overbearing crime boss who discovers his wife is having an affair with a local bookshop owner and decides to expose the affair during an evening at a local gourmet restaurant.
General view of the film ranges from shite to "excess of excess". Copious ammounts of tits and bum offered by pre-Dame Helen Mirren and after film machinations help drive a reasonable score. It just goes to show that challenging films provide something that should be cherished. I wonder if we should have a challenging score to offset the more popular main stream films? Something for the AGM - did someone say 15-17 October?
NF, I second your “challenging” score for the AGM. MM
